CALABASAS, CA - Reid L. Steinfeld, Esq. of Grant & Weber gave a presentation on at an American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) conference held July 10-11, 2008 in San Diego, CA. The conference was billed as "Healthcare Education on the Bay". 

 Mr. Steinfeld's presentation on "Chipping Away at the Silent PPO" covered key panel decisions issued by the California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. Feedback from the audience raised concerns about the unfairness of the payments received from these silent PPOs and the fact that the state is not doing enough to protect the medical providers.

Sue Honor-Vangerov, the California Division of Workers' Compensation Medical Unit Manager, spoke about the workers' compensation fee schedule and reimbursement.  

President Laurie Shoaf of Greensboro, NC, also spoke to the group.
