Unions talk tough going into Alitalia meeting
ROME – (AP) The head of a powerful labor confederation took a tough stand Monday before a meeting with Italian officials to discuss plans to sell parts of the failing state-controlled airline Alitalia.
CGIL labor confederation chief Guglielmo Epifani said the government should not expect unions to rubber stamp the plan without a real discussion especially concerning layoffs. Full version (available to lexis.com subscribers)
