As reported in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the IRS has dropped its investigation into whether FedEx Ground Service should've paid employment tax in 2002 for its drivers, all of whom were classified as independent contractors. The IRS is still auditing FedEx for the years 2004 to 2008.
