A military study into the detection, prevention and treatment of brain injury indicates that many of the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder mimic the symptoms of traumatic brain injury. Cognitive testing and new diagnostic imaging technologies used by the military have helped detect traumatic brain injury in some patients. Military research is also being conducted on which treatments can help rehabilitate brain injury victims.
