Oregon Health Care Providers in Furor Over Workers' Compensation Ruling on PPO Fees
OREGON - A July 7, 2008 emergency order issued by John Shilts, the state's Workers' Compensation Division's administrator, stating fees based on PPO rates are legal has created a furor among health care providers in the state. The decision was retroactive and wiped out pending claims as well. Doctors and others say they may stop treatments to workers' compensation claimants if the decision stands.
