U.S. Dept. of Labor Leads Annual Campaign for Drug-Free Workplace Programs, Announces Telecourse on 10/29/2009
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Drug-Free Work Week is an annual campaign led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Working Partners for an Alcohol- and Drug-Free Workplace program. For more ideas about steps you can take to ensure your workplace is safe and drug free—every week—visit the Working Partners Web site.
Just after Drug-Free Work Week, a free hour-long telecourse will be broadcast from
St. Petersburg, Florida that will focus on what a drug-free workplace can do for businesses, their employees and families, as well as the community as a whole. Drug Free Workplaces: Benefiting Employers, Employees & Communities will be broadcast October 29 from 1-2 pm EDT. Experts will provide information about how businesses gain the tools and assistance necessary to implement a successful drug-free workplace program. Prevention, treatment and recovery experts also will discuss substance abuse and addiction as it relates to the workplace. Business owners will discuss why their drug-free workplaces have not only gained them peace of mind but also have saved them money. The telecourse is sponsored by the Drug-Free America Foundation and the Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training program, a federally funded partnership through the Department of Defense between the Florida National Guard and St. Petersburg College.
