This release contains many updates. Volume 1 continues to be reorganized and revised, including a new Chapter 1 that combines an Overview and an Introduction to the Japanese Legal System, explaining everything from the basic structure of the Japanese legal system to general themes in Japanese law. Chapter 2 is now the Guide to Legal Topics which gives the reader a survey of the latest developments in the substantive areas of the law. Chapter 3, Business Law Outlines, contains coverage of specific topics that tend to be of interest to business law practitioners, including business law in new fields, commercial instruments, intellectual property, taxation, and dispute settlement. Chapter 4 contains the most recent Statutes and Standards, while Chapter 5 reviews the most recent Cases decided by the Japanese courts. Finally, Chapter 6 is an entirely new chapter covering Business Law in New Fields. The two Diamond Volumes contain revised translations of many of the basic and also contains the new Companies Act as Appendix 5F.
