Andrew C. Lauersdorf

Andrew Lauersdorf is an experienced trial attorney and leader of the firm’s Special Investigations and Fraud Litigation practice. He specializes in advising insurers, other businesses, and individuals in the investigation of suspected or alleged fraud, including arson and intentional losses, conversion and misappropriation, employee theft and dishonesty, material misrepresentation, fabricated or staged losses, and racketeering or organized fraud activity. He is experienced in working closely with forensic experts, private investigators, and law enforcement.
He focuses on advising clients of their rights and obligations with regard to fraud investigations and litigation. Mr. Lauersdorf is skilled at helping clients protect and enforce those rights, meet their obligations, and comply with state and federal laws regulating investigation activity. He is skilled at prosecuting civil actions on behalf of corporate and individual clients who have been victims of fraud, or suspect fraud in their business relationships, and defending clients who have been wrongfully accused of fraud or "bad faith" in conducting their business activities. Mr. Lauersdorf also has unique expertise in litigating disputes involving extra-contractual damages and large attorney fee claims, which helps limit or reduce client exposure for these extraordinary litigation costs.
Mr. Lauersdorf is a former prosecutor with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in Portland, Oregon. He has tried many cases to verdict, and has appeared in federal and state courts throughout Oregon and Washington. He has served as panel counsel and a frequent speaker to the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IASIU), and currently serves on the Board of the Oregon Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
Mr. Lauersdorf has a growing national reputation and clients have sought his advice and litigation skills on matters throughout the United States and in Mexico.
