Joy Harmon Sperling is a partner in the
New Jersey
office of Day Pitney LLP, representing consumer lending institutions. She has represented clients in connection with the prosecution of actions against borrowers, originators of loans, mortgage brokers, correspondent lenders, appraisers, and attorneys. She has also represented clients in the defense of a variety of other matters such as class action suits and predatory lending claims throughout the nation. Her practice also includes the defense and prosecution of mortgage fraud claims. Ms. Sperling assisted in the development of the firm's collection practice, including the creation and standardization of forms and supervision of hundreds of collection matters worth millions of dollars. Ms. Sperling also works with the firm's Individual Clients Department handling estate litigation, including Will construction suits and litigation involving executors and beneficiaries. She earned her law degree in 1986 from Rutgers University School of Law, and her B.A. degree cum laude from
