Lead Paint Defendants May Sue State of Rhode Island

In a conference call with reporters today, Charles H. Moellenberg Jr., an attorney representing Sherwin-Williams, said the defendants will "take a close look at recovering costs" and will contemplate filing an action against the State of Rhode Island.

Moellenberg said that the litigation was "unwarranted" and a "hard look" is in order for the defendants to see just what costs could be recovered under Rhode Island law.

One cost which he said could not be recovered is any loss in Sherwin-Williams' stock price over the nine years the case was being litigated.
