City Of Columbus Voluntarily Dismisses Lawsuit Against Former Makers Of Lead Paint
The City of Columbus, which sued the former makers of lead paint in 2006, today voluntarily dismissed its action with prejudice. The Columbus case was the last remaining case brought by cities in Ohio. The significance of the voluntary dismissal is that because it was done with prejudice, the claim cannot be revived at a later date.
The State of Ohio still has an active case, but sources indicate that the Attorney General's Office, in light of the the Rhode Island Supreme Court ruling on July 1, may dismiss its case as well.
