According to a report by the Associated Press issue just minutes ago, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a report declaring that synthetic turf athletic fields pose "no risk to children" with regard to lead poisoning.

The CPSC says it tested fields and concluded that although small amounts of lead were detected on the surfaces of some older fields, none of the fields which were tested released amounts of lead that would be harmful to children.

the environmental watchdog group, the Center for Environmental Health (CEH), contends that the CPSC study is "fatally flawed."
