Will AdultFriendFinder.com Find Itself Defending Against Class Actions?
Torts Law Center Coordinator
At least two firms are encouraging users of AdultFriendFinder.com (and similar services) to contact them, in response to allegations of fraud in the form of phony profiles:
The theory is that fake profiles are created to tempt users to pay for membership suscriptions and upgrades. Some of the allegations--and rebuttals--can be found at http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/177/RipOff0177561.htm.
If actions are actually filed, will they survive demurrer and class certification obstacles? One thing is certain: discovery will be very interesting if any cases make it that far...
