Top Experts Discuss Emerging Issues In Asbestos Litigation

A panel of leading asbestos litigators, judges and experts gathered for three days in March in Beverly Hills, Calif. , to deliver a much-talked-about series of debates, conversations and presentations surrounding the most massive of toxic torts.

The Emerging Trends in Asbestos Litigation conference, held March 9 to 11, 2009, at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel by HB Litigation Conferences, was chaired by Perry Weitz of New York's Weitz & Luxenberg P.C., John Cooney of Chicago's Cooney & Conway, and Timothy Krippner of Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney, Ltd., also of Chicago .

In the videos that can be accessed below, Mr. Weitz, Mr. Krippner, Robert Gordon of Weitz & Luxenberg and Bob Riley of Schiff Hardin discuss emerging trends in asbestos litigation, with a particular focus on bankruptcies, bankruptcy trusts and Trust Distribution Plans and procedures. Steven Kazan of Kazan, McClain, Lyons, Greenwood & Harley PLC of Oakland, Calif., speaks on an upcoming Asian asbestos conference, foreign asbestos claims in the and global asbestos-related diseases.

Robert Berkes of Berkes, Crane, Robinson & Seal of Los Angeles is on two videos discussing insurance coverage issues for asbestos non-products and Dickstein Shapiro’s Scott Godes discusses occurrences, bodily injury, premises coverage, typical claimants, products hazard, requirements for coverage under products hazard language and more in three clips.

Also, J. Yasmin Mancini of Segal McCambridge and John A. Barnerd of SimmonsCooper LLP give an asbestos verdict retrospective and Lawrence G. Cetrulo of Cetrulo & Capone LLP discusses the fairness of asbestos claim valuations.
