Media reports confirm rumors that Rod Bordelon will be appointed the new Texas Division of Workers' Compensation Commissioner. Mr. Bordelon currently serves as the Public Counsel at the Office of Public Insurance Counsel. He has experience running a state agency that advocates for consumers. Some believe he must transition from an advocacy role to an objective leader of a state agency balancing the needs of injured workers, employers, health care providers and insurance carriers. His appointment is not yet official.
