Latham & Watkins represented Canadian Solar Inc., a leading China-based manufacturer of solar cell, solar module and custom-designed solar application products, in connection with its follow-on offering of 6,000,000 common shares. Canadian Solar granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 900,000 shares of common stock, and the underwriters fully exercised this option. The offering closed on 21 October 2009 and raised gross offering proceeds of US$108,675,000.
Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and Piper Jaffray & Co. acted as joint bookrunners for the offering, and Wells Fargo Securities acted as co-manager of the offering. The Latham team was led by Hong Kong partners David Zhang and Allen Wang, along with associates Fan Zhang, Dominik Sklenar and Wendy Hung.
