Leading global law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges announced today that Soo-Jin Shim, a banking and finance partner in the New York office, has relocated to Hong Kong to lead its Asia finance practice. The move reflects the Firm’s continuing commitment to a top-tier transactional practice in an increasingly sophisticated legal market in Asia. Soo-Jin has represented major financial institutions, private equity sponsors and multi-national corporations in complex financing transactions for over 15 years. She has extensive experience in leading cross-border leveraged financings as well as restructurings and work-outs. She most recently led the team at Weil in representing General Motors in its historic US$70 billion financings from the United States Treasury and Export Development Canada.
