SCMP reports as many as 500 extra school places could be made available for mentally disabled pupils in the next two to three years, under an Education Bureau plan that comes amid threats of further legal action by parents.
About 200 of the new places will be ready after facilities are installed in some of the 50 special schools, which could be done in a matter of months. It will take up to three years to establish the other places because of the renovations needed.
