HotDocs® and LexisNexis Automated Forms
Do you know . . .
. . . what the difference between HotDocs® and LexisNexis Automated Forms is?
HotDocs® document automation software lets you transform frequently used documents, such as briefs, motions, legal forms, contracts, proposals, government or court forms, letters and wills, into reusable templates. Using HotDocs®, you can create new documents in a fraction of the time you would otherwise spend drafting them manually. HotDocs® has several versions, (Pro, Standard, PDF Advantage), which make automation of your custom templates even easier.  Are you interested in customizing any of your own templates? Call the friendly HotDocs® sales line at 800-500-3627 today.
However, for those clients who do not wish to automate their own template sets, LexisNexis publishes custom template sets that have already been automated using the HotDocs® software, LexisNexis Automated Forms. Usually, these sets include forms distributed and required by a certain agency, such as the California Judicial Council or the New York State Bar Association. All you have to do is enter case or client-specific information once, and it will be automatically inserted throughout the form.

I always thought HotDocs were the forms. This article helped me understand that HotDocs is the tool used to develop the form, and assemble the Automated Forms sets. I really like the Judicial Council Forms, they have saved me in my practice many times.
