The ultimate goal of most bankruptcy cases is the discharge of indebtedness. The discharge is the primary vehicle for accomplishing the fresh start purpose of the bankruptcy laws, which is to ''relieve the honest debtor from the weight of oppressive indebtedness, and permit him to start afresh free from the obligations and responsibilities consequent upon business misfortunes.''
