P 30.03 Discrimination by Private Employers
Section 525(b) extends the prohibition against discriminatory treatment to private employers. Other private entities are not included within the scope of section 525, except as provided in section 525(c),n1 but the application of section 524 serves to prevent discriminatory treatment by private entities in some cases.n2
Section 525(b) states that no private employer may terminate the employment of, or discriminate with respect to employment against, a debtor.
