The impacts of global climate change and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have landed in the courts. Litigation against businesses for damages from global warming continues to grow. Businesses of all sizes are now looking at how global climate change may affect their operations and legal responsibilities. Legal experts have asserted that the current wave of legal activity is reminiscent of the tobacco industry lawsuits thought at first to be inconsequential, but later resulted in massive impacts and costs.
