Appleseed is a nonprofit network of 16 public-interest justice centers and professionals dedicated to building a society where opportunities are genuine, access to the law is universal and equal and government advances the public interest. Appleseed relies on a network of professionals who volunteer their services to analyze issues and implement change.

“LexisNexis is very impressed with the caliber of the work undertaken by Appleseed and its network of centers,” Ken said. “Its track record of uncovering and correcting social injustices through legal, legislative and market-based reform is critical to advancing justice and the Rule of Law – an area of shared passion for Appleseed and LexisNexis.”
In his comments, Ken shared how increasing the capacity for Pro Bono is an essential part of advancing Rule of Law. He said, “We know we can make a difference by volunteering our time, donating our solutions to non-profits and Pro Bono attorneys, and raising awareness on key social issues that result from the absence of Rule of Law such as human trafficking.”

LexisNexis launched its corporate Pro Bono program in 2007 with the objective to mobilize roughly 2,000 lawyers to make a difference.  Last year LexisNexis employees used their two days paid time off to volunteer 48,000 hours around the globe to help improve the lives of others.  in 2007 with the objective to mobilize roughly 2,000 lawyers to make a difference.  Last year LexisNexis employees used their two days paid time off to volunteer 48,000 hours around the globe to help improve the lives of others.
