HOLLY Film on Human Trafficking Available on DVD
Every single day children are kidnapped and forced into the global, multi-billion dollar sex industry.  Interpol estimates that trafficking of children and young women is the third largest international criminal activity.  According to UNICEF, over two million children are stolen from their families or victimized on the internet.

This disgraceful exploitation of children is a direct result of an absence of Rule of Law. The Rule of Law is an accessible, independent and transparent legal system that provides a consistent set of laws that everyone, including government, must follow. Without Rule of Law there is no justice, no progress, no social or economic development, no human rights and a lack of highly developed moral societies.  As a company that does business throughout the world, LexisNexis® promotes the Rule of Law as a way to enhance economic development and quality of life.

Last year, we sponsored the screening of Holly – a film based on the true stories of abducted children and their fight for freedom – in cities around the U.S. Many of our clients in the legal industry, and employees in some of our locations, had the opportunity to view the film and participate in Q&A sessions with a panel of experts from the U.S. State Department and non-profit organizations working together to combat human trafficking. The film, starring Ron Livingston, Virginie Ledoyan, Udo Kier, the late Chris Penn and introducing 14-year-old Thuy Nguyen, is the recipient of the U.S. State Department’s prestigious Global Heroes Award.  To read more about the film, please visit the Priority Films site

We are pleased to announce that Holly is now available on DVD. Ten dollars from the sale of each DVD will be donated to the Red Light Children Campaign, a worldwide grassroots initiative working to reduce the number of children sold to the sex industry andexploited onthe internet. In order to further promote sales, LexisNexis® has taken the additional step of matching the full price of the DVD when LexisNexis employees purchase the DVD, which makes for a total of a $60 donation for each purchase made by a LexisNexis® employee.

LexisNexis® continues to support the efforts to combat human trafficking around the world through advocacy, education, and awareness.

Should more Law Schools move to a skills-based curriculum??

Yes, this would better prepare students.
No, a traditional legal education is best.
A blend of both should be considered.
